A good example of one of the more popular revolver carried by Union soldiers in the Civil War. A direct competitor to Smith & Wesson, Moore was sufficiently successful enough to be sued for patent infringement. He lost the suit and as a result these revolvers are somewhat scarce. CONDITION: Barrel of serial No. 3482 retains considerable original bluing with little if any wear to flats. Cylinder with strong traces of original blue. The Nimschke-style engraved brass frame has much original darkened silver. Backstrap and trigger guard retain nearly all of their original nearly silver. Hammer has some case colors remaining. Original grips retain most of their factory varnish with a few minor marks on bottom left. Action is crisp; bore has strong rifling and some minor corrosion towards muzzle. A very attractive example of this Civil War era revolver.
