Merwin Hulbert revolvers are rarely encountered with blue finish, as most all are nickeled. Serial No. 7739 is a very fine example of a blued Merwin with all matching numbers. CONDITION: Barrel retains nearly all its original bright blue finish. Cylinder with considerable blue finish but flaking to brown. Frame retains most of the original bright bluing except on back strap. Hammer retains most of its original case hardening. Action is excellent. Elaborate dog head gutta percha grips are excellent, with perfect checkering and no chips. Bore is excellent. This in an extremely attractive and rather rare Merwin.
