The Niedner Rifle Corporation of Dowagiac, Michigan is known for its exceptionally fine custom rifles. This lovely high condition example has round barrel fitted with special scope base with windage adjustment marked with Niedner name and address. It holds a Zeiss Ziel Klein 2-1/2x with post and crosshair reticle. Thick side high wall action is nicely blued. Very fine nicely streaked and fiddle figured European walnut horn capped pistol grip buttstock almost certainly made by Tom Shelhamer who worked as Niedner's primary stocker after 1924. It measures 13-1/4" over checkered Niedner style steel buttplate. Finely executed point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching schnabeled forend attaches to barrel with single screw. Weight: 10 lbs. 10 oz. CONDITION: Excellent, very close to new, as custom finished, with only some minor marks in metal finishes. Very little wear except for some scratches and marks mostly on bottom of barrel. Stocks have some nicks and dings. Bore is excellent, although a bit dirty. Scope is excellent, optically clear.
