This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 9/11/2019
One of three companies that produced the American Enfield for the first World War. Eddystone barrel is marked 6-18. The following parts are marked "E": stock, rear sight, front sight, and safety. No visible "R" or "W" marked parts. Beautiful dark walnut stock is stamped with following re-build inspectors: "SAA" and "S" in box and "3GM-K" with block "P" on wrist. CONDITION: Metal retains 95% of the arsenal applied finish after rebuild. Stock is near mint with just some minor handling marks. ME reading: 1. Sharp bore. It is a documented fact that more 1917 Models saw service in France than its more famous kin, the Springfield 1903. This rifle is really sharp with great stocks and a nice bore.
