Factory letter states this revolver shipped October 28th, 1902 to the US Government commanding officer of Springfield Armory in a shipment of 200 revolvers. Features the "JTT" (John Thompson) inspector stamp on left side of frame. Left side of frame bears the date "1902". "RAC" (Renaldo Carr) inspector stamp found stamped on left side of frame, bottom of walnut stocks, bottom of barrel, and back of cylinder. CONDITION: Gun retains overall 85-90% original blue with high edge wear, scattered handling marks, and a few overall light age freckles. Blued finish is a fine example of the art of high polish finishing. Nitre blue screws. Hammer retains 98% original fire blue on back and top. Excellent walnut grips with sharp cartouche. Fine bore and action. Locks up tight as new. Lovely, high condition, early 20th century US Martial pistol.
