British proofed on the octagonal barrel. Marked on the top of the barrel "PHILADA". The lock is marked "TRYON/MERRICK & CO". Brass mounted. Has "F. GOETZ" stamped into the left side of the wood at rear, placed there by the person who Tryon joined with when he began his working life. CONDITION: All metal surfaces have been cleaned. Light pitting on iron parts. Markings are clear. Brass is cleaned. Wood stock has been sanded at some point, some chips along the barrel channel. There are two cracks in the left side, opposite the lock. Some chips out around the lock plate. There is a crack extending from the front of the trigger guard to the rear of the ramrod ferrule. There is a replaced piece of wood at the front top of the lockplate. Bore is lightly pitted. Good mechanical function. From the Robert Sadler Collection. GR
