Gun (A) is a standard 1903 made in January of 1916. Proper "1-16" dated barrel matches the receiver serial number. "J.F.C." cartouche on the left side of the 2-bolt finger groove stock. Slightly later "J 5" marked bolt. This is one of the N.R.A. sales guns, marked on the forward part of the trigger guard assembly "N.R.A." under a flaming ordnance bomb. These guns were sold by the D.C.M. to N.R.A. members during the 1913-1916 period. Features a small plaque nailed to the bottom of the stock that reads "1260". CONDITION: Retains some original blue here and there, but mostly a pleasing patina. Markings are clear. Wood has dings and handling marks. NRA marking on the trigger guard is worn. Bore is fine with strong rifling. Fine mechanical function. Gun (B) is a Mark I with cutout on the left side of the receiver for a Pederson device. 3-20 barrel date. "J5" steel lot code on lug of bolt, handle is swept back. Single bolt finger groove stock. Equipped with a brown leather military style, but most likely civilian leather sling. CONDITION: Retains most of a parkerized finish. Markings are clear. Wood has dings and handling marks, has been cleaned at some point. No visible cartouche. Bore is fine with sharp rifling. Fine mechanical function. GR
