Manufactured 1943, Remington Rand 1911A1 pistol with parkerized finish and inspected F.J.A. (Frank J. Atwood). Slide marked on left side "REMINGTON RAND SYRACUSE N.Y. U.S.A." and with "P" proof on top forward of rear sight. Right side of frame is marked at rear with Ordnance Wheel inspection and marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY NO. 1508371 M 1911 A1 U.S.ARMY". Barrel is H.S. marked on right trunnion and "P" marked on left side. Grips are contemporary brown checkered plastic with reinforcement ribs and numbered 2557 and 2558 on interior. Magazine is a contemporary USGI magazine, blue finish with ASSY number 5508694 on base. Hammer is flat 1911A1 pattern and trigger is short stamped 1911A1 pattern. CONDITION: Very fine with a very minor takedown mark at slide stop. Minor edge wear at heel and muzzle from as well as very minor edge wear with 98% parkerized finish remaining. Barrel is blue finish with 30% blue finish remaining on chamber top and 80% on barrel tube itself. Bore is bright and shiny. Action operates properly. TDW
