Manufactured 1942. Produced by Mauser in a contract of 1000 units for Persia/Iran. 8" barrel with Persian Crest on chamber and all markings including numerals in Farsi. Blue finish with checkered walnut grips and fitted with stock lug and accompanied by matching numbers stock and period leather holster and straps. Mauser crown "U" proofs found on left side of upper with Persian inspection and crown on right side of frame. Sight graduations are uniquely in Farsi. Drift adjustable front side and traditional slide adjustable rear sight with previously noted graduations. Extractor marked in Farsi as is safety position. A small group of these guns were imported in the early 1980's that were in poor condition and were import marked. This is most certainly not one of those. CONDITION: Very fine with over 70% of the factory blue finish remaining with losses at grips straps and edges. Bore is excellent and action operates properly. Stock is matching numbers (in Farsi) and in very fine condition with most blue remaining on mounting iron and board stock has slight wear but is superb. Leather is void of markings but appears to be authentic and in good supple condition with solid stitching. Holster comes with loading tool and cleaning rod. Magazine is not matching but is properly marked with numerals in Farsi. This is a very fine example of a non-import marked Persian/Iranian artillery Luger. TDW
