Half moon front sight, U notch rear. Two line two block patent information and address, Rampant Colt at rear on slide, right side with "COLT AUTOMATIC / CALIBRE 45". Recoil spring with ShockBuff, barrel unmarked. Frame with VP and b proofs on trigger guard. Checkered slide release, safety, and spurred hammer with smooth straight mainspring housing. Truncated diamond checkered grips. Two tone lanyard loop magazine. Accompanied by a copy of a Colt factory letter indicating that this pistol shipped as one of six sent to Powell & Clement Company, Ohio, on March 12th, 1917 with a special feature 6 pound trigger pull. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining the majority of the attractive Colt blue with some losses to high edges and flaking, other normal marks scattered throughout, such as takedown mark. Action works correctly when cycled by hand, bore is excellent, with sharp lands and grooves, and some frosting. An attractive example. EW
