Standard configuration of a post-war French Gendarmerie pistol with 50-500 meter rear sight, hard rubber grips with "MW" intertwined. "NS" on back of hammer. Solid safety. Matching numbers (or partial numbers) observed on left side of breech, bolt stop, bolt, hammer, subframe, frame, magazine baseplate. Grips numbered appropriately on interior. Oak stock for a full-length Mauser, unnumbered, with "C" on locking lug. Marked "MADE IN GERMANY" on underside of magazine. CONDITION: Very good, retaining much of the blue finish with losses on left side of the magazine and high edges. Fire blue is toning with some losses to tangent sight and trigger. Sides of bolt stop have lost most of their fire blue, protected area under tangent sight with good bluing. Stock is very good with handling and operating marks through, one distinct area towards heel, and one live crack, approximately 4-1/2", at heel and running along spine. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is very good with strong rifling and some frosting in grooves. EW
