German pre-World War I P.08 manufactured by Erfurt in 1911. Receiver is marked "1911" over the chamber, with arsenal proofs on the right side. Toggle link is marked with the "(Crown) ERFURT" monogram. Front grip strap marked with a "O. P. M. 947" police unit marking. Frame, sideplate, trigger, locking bolt, barrel, trigger bar, safety, and receiver axle have all been renumbered to match the receiver. Former serial numbers visible under the frame and sideplate's newly applied serial numbers, with the sideplate fitting poorly to the frame. Complete with two later produced, force matched magazines, and a later produced leather holster marked " OTTO SINDEL/ BERLIN/ 1939". CONDITION: Metal components retain traces of their former blue finish, with the balancing turning a pleasing brown patina. Small areas of pitting are present all around. Bore exhibits pitting throughout and retains fair rifling. Unmarked grips show smoothing and some scattered indentations. Leather holster is good, showing some wear as well as some scattered storage and handling marks. -MLW-
