Manufactured in 1939 at the Mauser Oberndorf factory, this P.08 is marked "1939" over the chamber, with a Police eagle over "C" acceptance proof on the right side of the receiver. Left side of the receiver, breechblock, and front sight base all bear crown over "U" proofs. Mauser banner logo on toggle link. Barrel is marked with Simson eagle over "6" waffenamt. Sear bar safety is present. Matching numbers include the frame, locking bolt, trigger, trigger side plate, safety lever, safety bar, barrel, receiver, trigger bar, toggles, breechblock, firing pin, as well as both magazines. Grips are matching and are marked with Mauser eagle over "655" waffenamts on their interiors. Complete with a period leather police holster marked "OTTO SINDEL/ BERLIN/ 1939", which contains a matching secondary magazine and an unmarked loading tool. Interior of holster flap is marked "BOB WHITE" above "M-6044". CONDITION: Metal components retain bountiful amounts of what appears to be their original salt blue finish, exhibiting snicks beneath the finish, some edge wear, and areas of thinning on the grip straps. Mirror bore with very light surface oxidation on the lands, but otherwise exhibits well-defined lands and grooves throughout. Checkered walnut grips show some smoothing to the diamonds as well as a few small nicks. Holster is excellent showing some scattered handling marks. -MLW-
