WW2 era J. H. KEENEY & CO. 1918 BAR CUTAWAY MODEL. Oversized 95" cast metal classroom demonstrator of the famous Browning 1918A2 Automatic Rifle for educating soldiers during WW2 in the inner workings and operation of the rifle, including the open bolt operation, magazine, feeding, etc. Rifle actually "functions" when bolt is cycled, demonstrating the open bolt working and pulling the round out. Red paint to highlight areas of operation. Does not extract the current round or pick up another round from magazine when inserted. Mounted on a storm-grey wooden box with interior cavity, presumably for storage, and two upright pipes for holding the gun upright, stenciled "WORKING MODEL BROWNING / AUTOMATIC RIFLE / CAL. 30 M-1918-A2" and a small plaque for J.H. Keeney & Co and their address. J.H. Keeney is widely known for their manufacture of amusement rides. During World War II, they were commissioned by the US government to produce these models in an effort to help with field use of the model weapon. Magazine has cutouts on right side as a cartridge / magazine spring viewer, and an extra loose dummy round. CONDITION: Some rubbing to high edges and some chipping to paint, still retaining the majority of the paint. Receiver looks to be repainted over some imperfections and pitting. Some spots of old patina and rubbing to metal, particularly visible on magazine, barrel. Left side shows more wear than rifle. Dummy rounds are very good, showing some wear. Display crate pipes replaced, balance of crate very good with some oxidation to metal fittings and some rubbing and chipping to paint, honest wear. EW

This is not a standard shippable item and will require 3rd party shipping or pickup arrangements to be made.
