Lot consits of (A) Standard Model 1815 Charleville flintlock musket. Stock dated 1815. CONDITION: Unmarked barrel with a mostly brown patina. Lock is in its original flintlock configuration and with excellent markings, crisp and functioning well. Middle barrel band an improper replacement. Stock shows heavy wormhole damage to butt. (B) French Model 1766/68 flintlock musket by Charleville. Lock shows faint crown over "D" and left side of buttstock with clear "D" stamp for Charleville. Large "H" carved into left side of buttstock, denoting American use. CONDITION: Barrel retains an even brown patina and has been shortened by about 1/2" during period of use. Lock is a good reconversion and shows some pitting, marking faint. Iron furniture retaining a dark undisturbed patina. Stock very good with scattered signs of age and minor chips, period repairs. DMG
