Circa 1956. A nice and vintage sporting gun with a single 32" blued, ported, round steel barrel. Barrel with ejector and raised ventilated wide rib and white round front and middle bead sights. The dark case colored action is adorned with various scrolls and game scene vignettes. Right side of action with a gold standing woodcock inlay over woods. Left side with gold inlay of a standing pheasant in a field. Bottom action with various scrolls, Ithaca Eagle and reads "MADE IN USA", "ITHACA GUN CO", ITHACA , N.Y.". Top lever is case colored, scroll engraved and with checkered thumb piece. Action built on single checkered trigger. Trigger guard is engraved with floral scroll on bow and extends to a full length bottom strap which bears the guns serial number "404202". The reddish brown walnut stock with double checkered stock panels with fleur de lis inserts and fleur de lis checkered pistol grip with black grip cap and gold oval for initials is finished with a whiteline brown rubber pad. Beavertail forend with blued engraved latch release. Gun lives in a Ithaca black case with spare forend, 4 screws, and a cleaning cloth. CONDITION: Good. Barrel retains much of its blue with a fair amount of forearm rub. Barrel slightly loose of action. Action, trigger, and ejector are all sound. Stock with handling marks, various small imperfections around horns, butt pad, and grip. Comb seems to have had an earlier comb raiser that has been removed. Main forend also with some handling marks and imperfections. Extra forend with light handling marks and what appears to have had some repair. We believe the stock and current forend to be replacement. Case is good with handling marks and some interior soiling. CP
