Spencer Military Model 1860 lever action rifle made Spencer Repeating Rifle Company Boston, Massachusetts. Serial number 22877 denotes gun being issued to independent company of Ohio Volunteers. 30" round 6 grooved rifled barrel with pinned blade front sight and graduated rear sight. Walnut 2 piece military style stock with 3 iron bands and iron nosepiece. Case hardened action with Boston, Massachusetts address and single trigger. PROVENANCE: Rich Guckes Collection. CONDITION: Overall good with metal surfaces turning a plum patina with areas of corrosion. Wood has dark appearance with usage marks and dings. Shootable bore with good mechanics and a history. DLM
