Lot consists of (A) Mid-late 19th century clip point bowie knife with stag grips. The knife is marked "ALFRED / WILLIAMS / SHEFFIELD / ENGLAND" on the ricasso with "(Cross) EBRO (Cross)" on the blade. The knife features a German silver crossguard and stag grips which are secured by 3 pins on each side. The knife is complete with its leather scabbard. CONDITION: The blade exhibits evidence of sharpening and retains some of its original polished sheen. The crossguard exhibits blemishes including verdigris which can be cleaned. Stag grips remain secured to the handle with evidence of handling wear. The scabbard remains supple with scattered blemishes. Overall good. (B) Mid-late 19th century spear point bowie knife with stag grips. The knife is marked "JOSEPH / ALLEN & SONS / SHEFFIELD / ENGLAND" on the ricasso. The knife features a German silver crossguard and stag grips which are secured by 3 pins on each side. The knife is complete with a leather scabbard which is unoriginal to the knife. CONDITION: The blade exhibits a gray patina and appears to have been shortened. The crossguard has browned with age and right grip has a significant crack that has smashed the lower pin. Scabbard is rough but supple. Overall fair. (C) Mid-late 19th century clip point bowie knife with stag grips. The knife is marked "X*XL" on the ricasso and "G.WOSTENHOLM & SON / WASHINGTON WORKS / SHEFFIELD" on the blade. The knife features a German silver crossguard and stag grips which are secured by 3 pins on each side. The knife is complete with a leather scabbard which is unoriginal to the knife and marked "MADE IN GERMANY". CONDITION: The blade is bright with evidence of polishing. Scattered blemishes. The grips are firmly secured and exhibit handling wear. Scabbard remains supple. Overall good. PROVENANCE: Ex. Rich Guckes Collection. JLD
