Lot consists of: (A) World War I US Army Model 1917 Trench knife with original scabbard. the knife features a triangular shaped blade, wood grip with finger grooves, and D guard with 10 projections, 5 on each side. The interior of the D guard is crisply marked "A.C. & Co. USA 1917". The knife is complete with its green painted leather iron mounted scabbard that is marked "JEWELL 1918". CONDITION: The blade retains some of its original finish with loss towards the tip and 3 significant lines on each side from being removed from scabbard. Wood grip exhibits light handling wear but is very clean overall. The scabbard exhibits areas of light surface rust on the mounts and light blemishes on the leather. Overall very good. (B) Very nice example of a British WWI Robbins of Dudley Push Dagger. Designed for easy manufacture, these daggers were all privately purchased by individual soldiers. The dagger features a straight double edged blade, aluminum grip, and a steel knuckle guard. This example is unmarked, but is complete with its leather scabbard. CONDITION: The blade exhibits evidence of sharpening and cleaning as well as scattered light pitting. Aluminum grip also exhibits pitting. Leather scabbard exhibits scuffs, creasing, and other handling wear. Securing strap is present and functions properly. Overall good. JLD
