Third Generation Single Action Army manufactured by Colt. The left side of the barrel is stamped "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45", with Colt's single line address across the top. The left side of the frame bears stampings stipulating the patent information followed by the Rampant Colt logo. Frame is case color hardened, with the barrel, cylinder, grip straps, trigger guard, and frame screws being blued. Features include a 5 - 1/2" barrel, standard Single Action Army front & rear sights, as well as 2-piece smooth ivory grips embellished with gold Colt medallions. Interior of grips is ink stamped "Hand Craft For / Colt Firearms". Matching numbers are present on the frame, cylinder, as well as on the left side of the grip straps. Revolver is accompanied by a custom wood case that features a green velvet lined interior as well as a 6-round cartridge block in the lower left and upper right hand corners, as well as an original Colt factory cardboard box. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their original factory applied finish, exhibiting some spots of light oxidation as well as a couple of areas of wear on the right hand side. Frame shows areas of mild pitting and some light surface oxidation overall. Hammer shows mild oxidation on either side. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Grips are excellent. Case is fine overall. Box shows some exterior wear and some folding on one side, but is otherwise sturdy and serviceable.
