Lot consists of: (A) Excellent example of a World War II Navy Corpsman Bolo knife with great UNIS stamped scabbard. Standard configuration with rounded blade, wood scales, and copper fasteners. These were issued to cut litter poles and shelter poles and this example exhibits dents the on spine when it was possibly used as a hammer. The blade is properly marked "U.S.M.C." on the face. Complete with its leather scabbard which is marked "USMC / BOYT / 45" on the reverse. The front of the scabbard exhibits great UNIS markings denoting Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 4th Medical Battalion, 4th Marine Division. CONDITION: The blade remains bright with crisp markings. Scattered blemishes and dents as noted. Grip scales exhibit wear with tarnishing to the fasteners. Scabbard remains firm with evident carry wear. Overall very good. (B) WWII 1942 AGM Co. marked canteen contained in a UNIS marked cover. The cover is stamped with 4th Marine Division semicircle UNIS markings with what appears to be a 9 and illegible numbers. 4th Marine Division 900 series markings denote the 4th Tank Battalion, which could be a possible association. The letters "PAT" are marked in red paint under the UNIS marking. CONDITION: Salty. The snaps and belt hook exhibit oxidation and the cover exhibits scattered stains. The canteen has the correct feel and patina of a piece of field gear that would have been carried throughout the Pacific. Excellent in appearance, overall fair condition. JLD
