Tanner Sportwaffen is extremely well regarded for their 300 meter rifles, particularly free rifles, which have won numerous competitions. This example is a 300 meter rifle fitted with a 7.5 Swiss barrel, which consignor states was recently rebarreled and only has had 50 rounds shot through it. Matching serial numbers on bolt and receiver. Aperture sights (front on an island clamped to muzzle, rear on a groove receiver), anti-glare Tanner heat ribbon. Tanner rear sight, with appropriate adjustments. Forearms with checkered panels and underrail for various attachments. Distinct Tanner flat trigger with set mechanism underneath guard. Adjustable buttplate capable of accepting numerous attachments. Stippled vertical pistol grip with thumbhole stock. Accompanied by a generic black plastic case including a palm rest and spare rest. Import marked for MMBI on underside of barrel. CONDITION: Very good, showing evidence of range use. Some light spotting to barrel on left side and on bolt handle. Some light silvering to high edges. Stock is very good, solid, with some impressions and marks from range use. Mechanically excellent, bore is very good with strong rifling and just a touch a very mild frosting in the grooves. Case and accessories are very good and in commensurate condition. Tanner rifles are extraordinarily well regarded and finding them outside of Switzerland is very difficult as most rifles are spoken for once they are built. Today the company is run by Rolf Denzler, himself a well-respected coach. EMW
