Standard configuration P.08 manufactured at the Royal Arsenal at Erfurt during the Great War. The receiver is stamped "1916" over the chamber, with Erfurt arsenal proofs on the right. Toggle bears a "(Crown) / ERFURT" arsenal stamp. "(Crown) / RC" Revision Commission stamps are present on the frame, barrel, and receiver. Front grip strap is unit marked "Gren.R.10.11.9.", indicating issue to the 10th Grenadier Regiment King Friedrich Wilhelm II (1st Silesian) of the 11th Infantry Division. Metal components have been refinished at one point in time, exhibiting a dark matte blue finish. Frame is mounted with contemporary 2-piece checkered walnut grips. All numbers are matching, with the exception of the magazine, which is mismatched, and the grips, which are unnumbered. Magazine button is a smooth homemade replacement. CONDITION: Metal components retain large amounts of their reapplied matte blue finish, exhibiting some scattered areas of wear showing through to silvering, as well as varying degrees of inactive oxidation present beneath the finish overall. Bore is bright, exhibiting mild oxidation and good rifling throughout. Grips exhibit some light smoothing and a few nicks to the diamonds, but are otherwise fine. MLW
