LP.08 Luger masterfully built and modified by John Martz. The receiver is blank, with the toggle bearing the intertwined "DWM" monogram. Left side of breechblock bears a drooping eagle proof. Left side of frame is stamped with John Martz "MSTR" stamp above the takedown lever, with Martz's signature encircled "JVM" stamp followed by a smaller "MSTR" stamp present beneath the sideplate. Frame has been modified, now including Martz Safe Toggle Release system, which simultaneously releases the toggle assembly from the hold-open device and engages the safety bar simply by moving the safety lever from the fire to safe position when the toggle is locked to the rear. Major metal components are polished in-the-white, while some smaller components, including the takedown lever, trigger, magazine release button, and safety lever, being strawed. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered walnut grips. Magazine exhibits a nickel finish with an unmarked wood bottom. CONDITION: Excellent, as professionally finished and modified, with metal components exhibiting a lustrous in-the-white polished finish, showing some scattered spots of hardened grease overall, and areas of original bluing on some components internally. Strawed components are excellent, showing a few minor areas of wear from handling. Bright bore, exhibiting mild inactive oxidation and strong rifling throughout. Grips show a few scattered nicks and impressions, but are otherwise sturdy and serviceable. A very attractive Martz custom LP.08 Luger, modified with Martz ingenious Safe Toggle Release system. MLW
