Circa mid-19th century utility and protection pistol made by Unwin & Rogers of Sheffield, England featuring 2 folding blades: an unusual 3" dagger and a 1 - 7/8" utility blade, each marked on the ricasso with Rogers maker marks. Classic 3 - 1/2" German silver tapered octagon barrel with smooth .32 caliber bore stamped with Birmingham proofs. Pistol is fired with a folding trigger and central hammer which strikes a breech mounted nipple. The body of the pistol is made with 2 brass backed horn scales with German silver and steel spacers. A small trapdoor tool compartment is included in the butt with an additional slot for tweezers. Tweezers are a period replacement. CONDITION: Good. German silver is bright as cleaned with iron components exhibiting a gray, freckled patina. Blades have been sharpened. Grip scales are very good with some handling marks. Action operates correctly, although nipple is crushed. BAS
