Lot consists of 3 items: A) Letter from Deputy QM Gen. R.L. Hooper at Easton to Hand at Minnisink February. 22, 1777. A very friendly letter with news of Spain’s proclamation of American independence by way of a French vessel just arrived at Philadelphia. Notes at end that he has been ordered to make 1,000 pack saddles and asks Hand to send his to use as a pattern. CONDITION: Excellent. (B) 3-page letter to Auditor General James Milligan from Hand at New Windsor, Aug. 28, 1783, regarding settling accounts. CONDITION: Very good. Tape repairs reverse of second page. (C) Letter to Hand at Wyoming from Capt. Samuel Kennedy at Sunbury June 22, 1779, notifying him he will soon be rejoining him. Signs himself as “11th P. Regt.” but we find him in the 7th. CONDITION: Exc.
