Circa 1850s-1860s. 10" sweeping clip point blade marked on ricasso "V (crown) R, STACEY BROTHERS SHEFFIELD", with personalized blade etch having the name "EDWARD PICKRING" in panel surrounded by foliate scrollwork. Beautifully aged 1-piece stag handle with nickel silver ferrule, pommel, and guard. 15 - 3/4" overall length. Red morocco leather sheath with nickel silver tip and throat. CONDITION: Blade appears unsharpened with mostly original polish and scattered spidering. A very elegant and attractive bowie knife in superb condition. Stacey Brothers was founded in 1845, bowie knives by this manufacturer are rarely encountered. Formerly part of the Tommie Jones collection.
