Scarce Dickson-Howa Golden Bear bolt action rifle built in Japan by Howa Industries and sold in the United States by the Dickson Roses Company in the late 1960s. Guns are very similar to a Sako L61 Finnbear and it is rumored that Sako put an end to production in the 1970s with either a lawsuit or threat thereof. Blued 24" round tapered barrel with hooded ramp front sight and no rear sight provision, chambered in 300 Weatherby Magnum. Blued Sako L61 style Mauser action with side safety, quick detachable floorplate, and fitted with two piece scope mounts. Checkered walnut pistol grip stock with Pachmayr solid rubber pad and black composite forend piece. CONDITION: 98% blued with light handling marks. 98% original varnish with sharp checkering. Good bore and mechanics. DLM
