Early production Type 14 Nambu manufactured at the Koishikawa arsenal in August of 1930. The right side of the frame bears the Koishikawa arsenal insignia follow by the serial number, above the date code "4.8". Left side of receiver bears Kanji characters denoting the model designation. Major metal components are blued, while some smaller components are strawed. Slide/barrel extension has been reblued at one point in time. Frame is mounted with 2-piece serrated wood grips. All numbers are matching, including the magazine and the grips. Pistol is accompanied by a brown leather clamshell holster containing 1 spare non-matching magazine, 1 non-matching firing pin, as well as a canvas lanyard. Interior of closure flap bears Kanji characters denoting "Corporal Yamamoto". CONDITION: Frame retains the majority of its original arsenal applied blue finish, exhibiting light pitting and mild surface oxidation overall, with wear on the grips showing through to gray patina. Slide/barrel extension is excellent as refinished, exhibiting some mild wear and some spots of inactive oxidation beneath the bluing. Bore is bright, exhibiting mild surface pitting and good rifling throughout. Grips are excellent. Holster shows wear and smoothing overall from storage and handling, with the strap exhibiting some age-related cracking.
