Fine underlever hammerless German drilling built in Braunschweig, Germany by G.L. Rasch in 1928. The firm of Rasch had been around since the 17th century and existed until just prior to World War II. 28" Witten Steel side by side 16 gauge shotgun barrels equipped with 2 - 3/4" chambers, matted rib fitted with claw scope bases and switch activated rifle sight over a 8x72R caliber rifle barrel with extractors. Checker pattern engraved underlever action with horn trigger guard and opening lever, double triggers (front set), rifle selector switch, and wing style tang safety. Finely figured checkered walnut pistol grip stock with top comb bullet trap with owner's initials engraved on lid. Stock is fitted with cheekpiece and a horn grip cap and buttplate. Matching checkered walnut forearm. Gun fitted with European style sling swivels. CONDITION: 90%+ barrel blue with light edge wear. Action retains most of original coin style finish. Stock has traces of original finish with finish blurring with age. Wood has stress crack following grain in buttstock but appears solid. No major repairs or restoration is visible. Shotgun bores have some slight pitting with excellent rifle bore. Strong mechanics.
