A very nice British Boer War medal bar named to Private Ernest Welsh, (Prince Consort's Own) Rifle Brigade. The medal bar consists of Welsh's Queen's Sudan Medal engraved in sloping serif capitals to "2490 PTE: E. WELSH. 2/R:BDE", Queen's South Africa Medal impressed in narrow sans-serif capitals "2490 PTE E. WELSH, RIFLE BRIGADE" with Belfast, Laing's Nek, and Defence of Ladysmith clasps, King's South Africa Medal impressed in narrow sans-serif capitals "2490 PTE E. WELSH, RIFLE BRIGADE." with South Africa 1902 and South Africa 1901 clasps, and unnamed Khedive's Sudan Medal with Khartoum clasp. The medals are accompanied by 2 pieces of collar and 1 hat insignia, as well as a matching ribbon bar. Copy of record included. CONDITION: Medals and insignia exhibit a varying patina with surface wear and scattered blemishes.
