Circa 1984. An elegant Belgian made gun and double rifle combination in 28 gauge and 9.3x74R. The (A/1) barrel is chopper lump, 25", with ejectors, matte spear point quarter rib, raised island front sight with golden tipped bladed sight. Barrels with extension for third fastener. Spearpoint rib with 1 standing and 2 folding sights all with gold line. Right barrel reads "AUG. FRANCOTTE - LIEGE". Barrel flats with Belgium proofs. Bottom of barrels stamped "9.3x74R", MADE IN BELGIUM", "3000 BAR", and "91713". (B/2) Chopper lump 26" barrels with 2 - 3/4" chambers, ejectors, and choked Full and Full. Barrels with matte filed concave tapered rib. Rib with small round front brass bead. Barrels are also equipped with extension for third fastener and right barrel reads "AUG. FRANCOTTE-LIEGE." Barrel flats are marked with appropriate Belgium proofs and "28-70" in oval, "AF" with crown in oval, "1KG 050". Bottom of barrels stamped "91713", "2" to match individual forend, "28GA SHELLS", "2 3/4","13.9","MADE IN BELGIUM". The small framed sidelocked action with grey patina is fit with a hidden third fastener, fire blued double triggers, set disk strikers, gas escapes, engraved top lever with checkered thumb, and a scroll engraved and checkered safe slide. "SAFE" in gold. Gun is non-auto safe. Action is handsomely engraved with floral scroll and game scenes. Left lock plate is engraved with 3 gold doves flying through wood, right lock plate is engraved with 3 gold flying quail past a farm fence; bottom of action is engraved with scrolls and a majestic gold stag bust. All engraved by R. Collinet, which is signed at right on trigger plate. Triggers protected by matched scroll engraved steel trigger guard which extends to the gun's full length bottom strap with scroll engraving and gun serial number "91713" in gold. Lovely Marbled European stock with drop points, sharp and tightly checkered English straight hand grip and is finished by a checkered butt. Both barrels have their own European walnut semi-beavertail forends with engraved escutcheons and fire blued checkered Anson styled push releases. Interior iron metal is case colored hardened, with serial number "91713" and with "1" or "2" to identify if belongs to the 9.3x74R or 28 gauge barrels. Gun lives in brown leather case housing both sets of barrels and 2 extra Auguste Francotte & Cie black and gold labels. CONDITION: Excellent. Both sets of barrels retain mostly all of their blue and bore are excellent. Action, trigger, and ejectors operate well. Stock and forend are excellent with very slight handling marks. Case is very good with evidence of storage/use. Very nice combination gun/rifle.
