Lot consists of: (A) Natal Native Rebellion Medal (British campaign medal authorized in 1907 for service in Natal during a Zulu revolt against British rule and taxation in 1906) impressed "PTE. S.B. DUTTON, NATAL RANGERS." The medal displays the 1906 clasp, which was awarded to those who had served for more than 50 days. Dutton appears in the rolls with confirmed clasp. (B) Medalje voor de Anglo-Boere Oorlog (South African Republic and Orange Free State War Medal awarded for Boer veterans who fought in the 1899–1902 Second Boer War) impressed "BURGER. P.D. POTGIETER". (C) Medalje voor de Anglo-Boere Oorlog (South African Republic and Orange Free State War Medal) impressed BURGER R.D.J. COMBRINCK". (D) Ashanti Star (awarded to troops who had taken part in the Ashanti Expedition against the Ashanti King Prempeh, who had been indulging in human sacrifices and cannibalism) named on reverse "160065 F.E. MCLEAN L.S. H.M.S. FOX". (E) Unnamed Ashanti Star. CONDITION: Medals exhibit varying patina with scattered blemishes.
