This lovely deluxe 1892 shipped from the factory on February 5, 1910. Fit with a blued 24" octagon barrel chambered in .32-20 with full-length magazine tube, 2-line address, and sporting sights. Polish blued takedown frame with case-hardened lever and hammer. Plain trigger. Oil-finished "H" pattern checkered "X" grade figured walnut pistol grip stocks with blued nose cap, composite WRACO grip cap, and case-hardened rifle butt plate. Left of tang marked with "20886" assembly number. Stock stamped under the butt plate "10107" with "20888" written twice in pencil. Factory letter confirms options. PROVENANCE: Ex. Ray Bentley Collection, purchased from Warren Lewis in 1994 with original receipt included. CONDITION: Excellent. Rifle retains approximately 98% lustrous blue with mild marks. Possibly a factory refinish, although no Return and Repair is listed. Factory refinishing may also explain the non-matching assembly numbers. Case-hardened components retain the majority of their colors with some muting and fading to patina, lever colors remaining the strongest. Stocks are excellent with minor handling marks and a scratch on the right side of the butt. Very fine, bright bore with strong, well-defined rifling. Fine mechanics. A very attractive and scarce deluxe Winchester.
