German World War II Luftwaffe aircraft clock which consignor indicates is likely to be from a Dornier 17F-1 long-range reconnaissance aircraft shot down over England. Likely to have been early in the war (Battle of Britain perhaps), as the aircraft was only in service for a short period. Clock appears to function properly and the clock face is marked for the watch maker "Junghans" and "FL. 25591", and inside is marked as Luftwaffe property "Eigentum der Luftwaffe", "FL. 25591", "1937" and "660". Clock is mounted in a gray painted 24" wooden propeller which has the aircraft identification marking of "4F RM" with the standard military cross, though it is unknown if this marking represents the aircraft the clock was removed from. Propeller is mount on a block of aluminum, over a wooden base with an engraved brass tag which states "Dornier DO 17F-1 4F RM". CONDITION: Overall excellent. WEZ
