Accuracy International produced a very limited edition of these rifles to replicate the L115A4, the standard British Army Sniper rifle. These rifles are updates of the L115A3 that Harrison used to set a record 2,475 meter kill in Helmand, November, 2009. Harrison and his spotter were in Helmand engaging a pair of Taliban machine gunners, and had to walk the shot in over the course of approximately 9 rounds; once dialed in, Harrison went two for two on the insurgents. Harrison advised the updating of the L115A3 that he used for that shot and was instrumental in the development of the L115A4. After the updates, Accuracy International had a small number of surplus parts, and they released a limited number of the rifles in the new L115A4 configuration and named them the Maverick 41 Edition, which was Craig's callsign. These rifles utilize an AWM action in an AX chassis system, 27" .338 Lapua Magnum barrel with muzzle brake, in an FDE finish. Matching numbers observed on receiver, bolt and bolt head. This rifle was further equipped with a Nightforce 7-35x56 ATACR FFP scope with MOAR F1 reticle, and an angle cosine indicator for shooting on an angle. With appropriate Accuracy Internatonal North America import mark on left side of receiver, and MAVERICK 41-043 designation on right side. In the correct Pelican deployment kit with accessories comprising factory paperwork including manual and equipment schedule, DOPE cards, Mildot Master manual, three spare magazines, cleaning tools and roll, sling, sunshade, spare buttpads and screws, and spare butt spike. Accompanied by a signed copy of "The Longest Kill" by Craig Harrison, detailing his life and work as a sniper, signed "enjoy the read / Craig Harrison" on title page. CONDITION: Excellent, NOS or equivalent, with a scant few markings from handling and shop wear. Essentially all of the FDE finish is retained with some silvering from application of stamps and proofs as appropriate. Mechanically fine, bolt throws smoothly, glass is clear, bore is excellent with razor sharp rifling and a whisper of firing residue. Case and accessories are excellent. These kits retailed for $15,000 before glass, and are no longer available. An ideal "one-and-done" for the serious long range shooter.
