Manufactured 1981. Inside the grip panel is stamped "Colt Eng." along with matching serial number (twice). The cylinder has matching number and is stamped 44-40. Matching etched number in both grip panels. Standard blue and case color finish with Colt eagle grips. Left side of barrel is stamped "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY 44-40". Proper short two line barrel address. Frame has the two line patent dates with Colt pony. This revolver is hand engraved in Class 3 coverage of American Bank Note scroll with punch dot and diamond background. CONDITION: Excellent. Gun appears to be near new with a few scrapes on face of cylinder and a light drag line. The consignor added an extra set of proper era grips that are numbered to another gun.
