This .38 Military & Police Model 1905 Fourth Change revolver features full factory experimental chrome finish, as was only applied to a group of 12 of these revolvers in 1929. Additional features on this revolver include 5" pinned barrel, half moon front sight, 6-shot fluted cylinder, and 2-piece checkered walnut service stock inset with chrome S&W medallions. An included factory letter confirms the configuration of this rare gun and notes that this example was delivered to Harold Wesson, President of Smith & Wesson and grandson of Daniel Wesson, in 1945. CONDITION: Excellent. Nearly all of the brilliant original chrome is retained throughout with a light turn line and some surface marks. Hammer and trigger retain the majority of their muted case colors. Grips are very good, with sharp checkering and a few light impressions. Inside of right panel stamped with the full, matching serial number. Near excellent, bright and shiny bore with only a few spots. Fine mechanics. A very scarce and historic Smith & Wesson.
