This is a DP-27 machine gun, but more often called a DP-28 here in America. This particular specimen was manufactured in 1935, as indicated on the top of the receiver. The various components of this gun are non-matching and the gun is refinished. Incidental to the remanufacture and refinishing job, the original manufacturer's markings on the top of the receiver are illegible. Notwithstanding, the serial numbers on several of the components clearly include Cyrillic characters indicating Russian manufacture. One original pan magazine is included with this lot, as well as a spare rear sight/magazine release assembly. Electronic NFA registry indicates "ASKLAND, RUSSELL LEE DBA SXT" as the manufacturer. CONDITION: Overall finish and appearance is near excellent as refinished upon remanufacture, with marks discernable under the refinish. Bolt is a plum color, also indicating refinish over hardening. Wood has been sanded and refinished and is an attractive light color. Bore is near excellent, shiny and bright. Bolt face is extremely fine. Pan magazine has a finish consistent with the rest of this arm. Mechanics are crisp. This is a full-auto-only machine gun. Overall this gun presents extremely well, and this model is seldom found yet a highly sought-after machine gun in the United States. It is sure to please both the World War II collector and the shooting enthusiast. Please see the very rare original Russian pan magazine carrier also being offered in this auction. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4. JWK 2024-05-029.
