Last quarter 18th century. Slightly curved English-type double-fullered blade. Chased silver cross-guard with double chain extending to silver eagle head pommel cap. Green-dyed checkered ivory grip wrapped with a thin strip of crimped copper and a strand of braided copper wire. Complete with its original brown leather-covered wooden scabbard with silver mounts and tooled designs. CONDITION: Blade retains a grey patina with some spotting and stains. Hilt mostly polished with darker patina in protected areas. Grip very good with one tiny chip at intersection with pommel on bottom right side. Pommel slightly loose. Scabbard shows some staining and scuffing to surface.and some losses on reverse side. Center mount a replacement. An attractive sword.
