Produced only in 1938 and 1939 by Steyr in occupied Austria for a Luftwaffe contract. This example is stamped on the receiver ring with the early "660" Steyr production code and "1939" date. It features full arsenal blue throughout. Ramped barleycorn front sight and tangent rear graduated to 1800 meters. Walnut finger groove stock with pointed Austrian grip. Right side of butt bears eagle over "L" Luftwaffe stamp. Full or partial matching serial numbers observed throughout. Complete with leather sling. CONDITION: Overall, very good. The vast majority of the arsenal blue is retained throughout with some areas of moderate wear, thinning, and scattered marks. Stock impressions throughout, in line with military service. A small split present on the handguard behind the rear sight. Stock markings strong and legible. Bore is bright and displays strong, well-defined rifling. Fine mechanics. Leather is clean and supple.
