The Parker AAHEs were Grade 7 guns, below only the A1 Specials and the legendary Invincibles. They were one of the finest guns Parker offered, and built with some of the finest materials to top specifications. This example, built circa 1920 per serial number, with scarce 26" barrels, fit with a tapering, narrowing, concave game rib, fit with a mushroom bead foresight, machine matted, with a central vignette reading "PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN. CT. U.S.A. WHITWORTH STEEL", flanked by arrows on both sides, and fit with a square rib extension, engraved with diminutive acanthus scroll. Tops of chambers with 2 - 1/2" pyramids of nicely executed intertwining acanthus scroll with a striated background, with bands of scroll and the beads, and beaded at the muzzle. Barrel flats with 00 frame and 28 gauge designations on lump, and additionally marked with "JG" in a circle, "SKEET IN" and "SKEET OUT" "W E 3", "E" with a strike out, "319" "W" "2" and another, faded proof. Splinter forearm with near complete coverage of nicely executed modified point pattern, with a reinforced tip and Deely latch release, engraved with further floral and geometric patterns throughout. Interior is engine turned, and marked "191767" and "PATD. MAY 7. 1901". Boxlock action is engraved with nearly complete coverage of interweaving florals on a striated ground en suite with barrels, with mixed bead and scrollwork strap borders, with hand engraved "PARKER BROS" on each side, underneath the fences, which are nicely filed; the only unengraved areas are the fences and the beveled areas behind the hinge pin. Underside with more detailed bouquets of floras with accenting scroll. Action flats with lightening cuts, stamped with "7", serial number, August patent date, and "PARKER BROS". Automatic safety, with "SAFE" engraved ahead of slide. Double triggers are protected by a trigger guard with floral and scroll engraving en suite. Nicely figured walnut stock with sidepanels backed by fleur-de-lis tear drops, and checkered in the AAHE fluer-de-lis pattern about the wrist, with pistol grip capped by a vacant gold plate on a horn pedestal, with light borderwork. Skeleton buttplate enclosing a checkered butt with scroll engraving en suite. CONDITION: Action retains traces of color case hardening in protected areas. Barrels retain 90+% of original blue with high edge wear. Stocks show period correct wear, with multiple light bruises and scratches. Truly an honest example of a well cared for and extremely scarce Parker.
