The hardwood case with separators that hold multiple decks of playing cards has screws that will press the cards to keep them fresh as these early cards were not coated. The brass screws are marked with Rydberg & Co. Chicago. Within the wood case is a brass Faro dealer card box. Also includes eight decks of cards manufactured by Samuel Hart & Co c.1860. The ace of spades gives the address as New-York before he merged with a larger parent company. In 1871 Samuel Hart & Co became part of the New York Consolidated Card Co. These cards do not have any indices. (Most look compete but we did count each card) The game of Faro was the most commonly played gamblers game in saloons of the old west. CONDITION: Very Good.
