Lot consists of: (A) German World War II Red Cross Hewer with "GES GESCHUTZT" marked blade. Very nice factory cross graining along the length of the bright blade. Scattered light blemishes with sharp saw back. Silver plated zinc pommel and crossguard, with nice patina throughout. Black Bakelite grip scales appear untouched with only light wear. Black painted steel scabbard has scattered marks throughout, with most of its original finish. Nickel plated zinc fittings exhibit a chocolate patina. CONDITION: Blade is very good, scabbard good. (B) German WWII Red Cross Leader's Dagger with an unmarked blade that remains fairly bright and exhibits visible cross graining. Plated fittings retain some amounts of their original finish with ends bare and exhibiting a nice patina. Orange trylon grip exhibits handling wear with darkening to one side. Frayed portepee is attached. The original leather washer remains present under the crossguard. Complete with its scabbard, which is straight, dent free, and retains nice amounts of its original finish with pleasing patina. The screws on the scabbard throat show no signs of any tampering. Unmarked hanger attached that exhibits patina and oxidation. CONDITION: Very good.
