Circa 1913. A British early made sidelock with nitro proofed 29” steel dovetail barrels. Barrels are fit with 2 – 1/2” chambers, ejectors, third fastener, wide concave matte rib and round steel front bead sight. Barrel flats are marked “NITRO PROOF”, “1 OZ.”, “16”, ”CHOKE” and with proof markings. Barrel bottoms marked “T5906” and “WESTLEY RICHARDS STEEL” around triangle. Right barrel reads “WESTLEY RICHARDS & Co LONDON”. Left barrel reads “The Newcome.”. The shiny coin finished action with decorative and border scrolls reads “WESTLEY RICHARDS” in a banner. Action is built with hidden third fastener, double triggers, black checkered top lever, and black checkered safe slide. “SAFE” is engraved. Trigger guard is blacked with minimal decorative scroll engraving and extends through a long bottom strap. Bottom strap with serial number. The light blonde and honey colored walnut is built with drop points, English straight hand grip, small silver vacant oval, and is finished with an orange rubber recoil pad. Matching forend with Anson-styled push button release and diamond-shaped pin. Iron metal with light border scroll. Gun comes with older Rexhide compact case. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels with mostly all of their color and bores are bright. Rib near breech with a few dings. Action, triggers, and ejectors are sound. Stock and forend are also very good with minimal wear from use/storage. Case is good with signs of use and storage.
