Manufactured in 1941, it is known the Marine Corps acquired approximately 750 Johnson rifles including some in the B production block. This example has been polished and finished in blue. 23" barrel without bayonet lug. Remounted with an original protected blade front sight, at one pointed fitted with a sporter sight. Standard aperture rear sight graduated to 1000 meters. Barrel bushing marked ".30-06" and "41" with a 7-row perforated heat shield. Bolt is from the "B" production block although does not match the rifle serial number, a common occurrence as these rifles are believed to have been assembled at the factory without care to match internal numbers. Receiver markings have largely been polished off. Stocks are modern replacements in standard military style with a checkered steel military butt plate. CONDITION: Good. The vast majority of the reapplied blue is retained throughout with some mild wear. Front sight and stock hardware have faded to an aged patina. Stocks have only light, scattered marks with nice oil finish. Very fine bore, likely indicating a replacement barrel. Fine mechanics.
