This is a 2nd subvariation of the rare K date Luger. It has the mixed gothic S and regular S stamped on the different parts. Gothic S/42 on the toggle and a K on top of the chamber. It has the early Mauser K date proofs on the right side of the receiver. This is an all matching numbers gun except the magazine. The magazine is to a K date and is numbered "S / 505 / +". It also has the early Mauser K date proof on it. The hold open and the grips are not numbered. Strawed small parts. It comes in the correct holster for a K date. The hoster has a brass tipped cleaning rod and an "S/42" marked takedown tool in the lid of the holster. The holster is maker marked, "AUWAERTER & BUBECK / A.G. / STUTTGART / 1934". There is a WaA101 proof mark. CONDITION: This gun retains most of the original blue finish. There is holster wear and high edge wear. The grip straps are thinning. The bore has some light frosting in the lands and grooves. Checkering on the grips shows a little wear. The left grip has a chip under the safety lever. The holster is very solid with tight and serviceable stitching. A very desirable K date rig.
