Ubu and mumei. Given the NBTHK attribution and sugata, possibly late Kamakura. Fumbari still visible at the machi. Jihada with elements of masame, itame, and nagare (particularly on left side near hamachi). Ko-nie deki hamon with plenty of hataraki including sunagashi. Utsuri visible towards monouchi. Ko-maru boshi. Ubu nakago with kirijiri (somewhat corroded at jiri) with a single mekugi-ana and showing great age. Accompanied by an NBTHK Tokubetsu Hozon paper and some additional paperwork from Tatsuhiko Konno attributing the blade to Kunimitsu. In shirasaya and with silver foil wrapped copper habaki. CONDITION: Good, in polish, particularly considering the age of the sword. Some kitae-ware and shintetsu throughout, but some shinae noted near the mune on the left side, approximately 3" up from munemachi. One extremely small chip at mono uchi. A good example of a Yamato tachi with Tokubetsu Hozon papers.
