Manufactured in 1918. Features include half moon front sight, rounded top "U" notch rear sight, smooth long trigger, knurled slide lock with milled undercut, knurled thick tab safety with milled undercut, knurled spur hammer, and smooth flush mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Mounted with checkered large diamond wood grips. Accompanied by unmarked 2 tone Colt magazine and 1918 dated Hoyt leather holster. Left side of slide is marked with Colt manufacture marking and Rampant Colt near serrations. Right side of slide is marked with "MODEL OF 1911. U.S. ARMY". "G" inspector mark near ejector relief cut, and "H" inspector mark above firing pin retaining plate. Barrel is marked with "H" inspector mark and "P" proof mark near barrel hood. Frame is marked with US Property marking and "JMG" catouche on left side. Frame bridle near ejector is marked with "H", "G", and "L" inspector markings. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining a majority of the original brushed blue finish with scattered light freckling and handling wear to grip area. Grips are worn with handling marks throughout, but no major cracks. Mechanically fine. Bore is lightly frosted with sharp rifling. Holster has age related crazing and handling wear with tight stitching and pliable leather.
