Blued tapered octagon barrel with globe front sight and aperture tang sight, the rear sight dovetail filled in. The underside of the barrel is mounted with a 16" weight and numbered "(?)484" under the forend, likely indicating replacement. Action features later engraving done in the correct style with central running buck and bison vignettes flanked by punch dot shaded foliate scrolls and lined borders. Double set triggers and a walnut knob lever. Matching numbered Schnabel tipped splinter forend with checkered offhand grip. Stock has checkering at the wrist, a double line cheekpiece, and large nickeled Swiss butt plate. CONDITION: Fine. Barrel retains nearly all of its factory blue, starting to fade with a few scattered marks. Barrel weight and has largely faded to brown patina. Receiver displays an even, cleaned gray patina. Stocks are very fine with only light marks. Bore is strong, some darkness present in the grooves. Action requires some attention. Hammer does not hold in the cocked position but otherwise appears to function correctly.
